A Self-Directed Learning Community for Homeschoolers in Western Virginia
Self-directed education thrives when learners have access to the wider community and multi-age groups of people from diverse backgrounds. With ample time to discover and explore their interests, learners can shape an educational experience that is meaningful to them. With access to necessary tools and resources learners can learn anything they want!
We believe that immersion in a stable, supportive, respectful community is vital to the success of self-directed education. Community can be found in a variety of ways. Most people are often times part of several different communities united by shared purpose, place, identity, or practices. A self-directed learning community can offer material resources, collective wisdom, a variety of caring adults, peer relationships, and a sense of empowered belonging.
We are striving to support the connection of a network of families who play and learn together. We hope that through this community we can find opportunities to nurture our shared interests and relationships with one another on this journey of self-directed learning.
Please reach out if you have any questions about our programs or philosophy. We look forward to connecting with you all in one way or another.
