Field Trip: Boxerwood – Water Scientists

Boxerwood Water Scientists Field Trip

Join us on Tuesday, April 23rd from 1:30 – 3:30 pm at Boxerwood and become a Water Scientist! Learning in family pods, we will work together to find out how healthy Boxerwood’s waterways are for resident aquatic creatures. During the 1 hour program families will do hands-on testing using real scientific equipment (test-tubes, test tablets, thermometers and more) to assess water quality in terms of dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity, temperature, and presence of nitrates (fertilizer). Families will complete tests, share data, and come to collective conclusions as part of the scientific process in action. Includes discussion, hands-on activities, and treks to various Boxerwood waterways. Following this program families are free to roam on their own and/or complete a related service project.
